HAAT Award for October 2016
The Palestine High School Alumni Association is proud to recognize Cynthia Oliva teacher at Washington E.C.C. as our PHSAA Honor A Teacher recipient for October 2016.
Cindy Oliva is the proud mother of two beautiful children. Her daughter, Gia, is about to turn four and her son, Adam, is 18 months old. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and she holds a certification in Early Childhood Education. She is currently employed as a Head Start teacher at Washington E.C.C. She has been employed with the Palestine Independent School District for ten years. She previously taught First grade for three years and Second grade for two years. At the present time, she is in her fifth year teaching four year olds in Head Start.
Her hobbies include reading, running, and crafting. She is an active member at her church and enjoy spending quality time with family. Her favorite part about teaching Head Start is building a strong, nurturing relationship with her students as well as their families. She enjoys visiting her students at their homes and parents are frequently invited to the school to participate in special events hosted by Washington E.C.C. She feels truly honored to receive the HAAT award. And Thanks PHSAA.
