06 / 09 / 1933 – 04 / 9 / 2016Otis S. Crittenden, 82, of Nashport, Ohio died Tuesday morning, April 19, 2016 at Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark. Born June 9, 1933 in Palestine, Texas he was a son of the late Otis S. Crittenden, II and Catherine (DiCarlo) Crittenden.Mr. Crittenden was a graduate of Palestine High School and he received his Bachelor’s degree in business from Sam Houston State University. Otis was very patriotic and proudly served our country in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He retired in 1990 from Tropigas International where he was vice president and general manager of marketing. After his retirement he was a consultant for the propane study group. Otis was Episcopalian by faith and attended Nashport United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Elks, the Eagles and was former township trustee in Licking Township, serving for 8 years. Otis was a very avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and football, especially the Dallas Cowboys.Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 59 years, Susan (Dorsey) Crittenden whom he married July 27, 1957; a son, Michael (Kathy) Crittenden of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Cheri Alexander of Adamsville, Ohio and Elaine (Robert) Loughry of Thornville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Carli Clifford, Michael Graham, Nicholas Graham and Travis Crittenden; three great grandsons, Alex, Jonathan and Damien and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Howell Crittenden and a sister, Catherine Blankenship. In honor of his wishes, Otis’s body will be cremated.A memorial service in his honor will be conducted at 11:00am Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Nashport United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Smith officiating.
