FLOYD R. “BUCK” JONES, 97, of McAlester, Oklahoma was called home on Friday, September 23, 2016. Services will be at 2:00PM Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Herrington/ Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel, 3434 S. Loop 256, Palestine, Texas.

Buck was born August 12, 1919, in Allen, Texas. He graduated from The University of
Texas as an Electrical Engineer. His first job was for Sperry Gyroscope in New York City, NY.
From there it was back to Texas and then to Oklahoma where he lived over 60 years. In McAlester he put in the first Cable T V Company.

He is survived by his daughters, Barbara J. Hoefer and husband Michael and Lynne D. Stonger and husband Rick; and his son, John Shannon Jones and wife Claudia. He had four grandchildren, Alexis Hoefer Matthews, Rachel Jones, Jason Stonger, and Megan Stonger Gilkerson. He also had two great-grandsons, Luke and Cole Matthews.

Buck was preceded in death by his son, Biff; his wife, Rosamond; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Jones; his sister, Beatrice Herrington and husband Harry; and brothers, Bob Jones and Bud Jones and wife Marylea.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
