Robert Frazier – PHS 1957
06 / 09 / 1936 – 11 / 25 / 2015
Robert was born in Anderson County, TX on June 9, 1936 to Vernon and Mae Ella Starkey Frazier. He passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the age of 79.
He lived most of his life in Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School. He served several years in the Army National Guard. A hard working man, all his life, he worked mostly in the oil and gas industry from which he retired. Not staying retired too long, he came back to Palestine and worked with his son, Ricky at Dogwood Lumber. This is where he gained his nickname “Pops” since he was the “old man” of the crew! His years spent helping Ricky were probably some of the happiest of his life. After Ricky’s passing and the closing of Dogwood Lumber, he seemed to have lost a little of the light in his eyes and just slowly started retreating from the world. His heart never fully recovered from the sadness. Always a very proud, very stubborn and private man, he never wanted to be a bother to anyone. Yet he would be the very first to give you his last dime and the shirt off his back if you needed it. All one had to do is ask. Pops was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Margaret Conaway, and his first born, Ricky Frazier.
He is survived by his two daughters, Vickie Frazier Blalock and husband Dave, and Sue Frazier Kiser and husband Jonas, and their mother Mary, one son, Bill Frazier and wife Stephanie and his mother, Nancy. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, LeeAnn Frazier Hamilton and husband Wyndell, Justin Frazier, Jason and Jenni Johnson, Jeremy Morris, Katie Floyd and Josh, Miranda and Caleb Frazier a sister, Vernice Dickson and a brother Elvin “Butch” Frazier. He also leaves behind his loving companion, Ava Hollie and all his “bonus” family that took wonderful care of him. Thank each of you for loving our Daddy.
A viewing and graveside services will be held Thursday, December 3, at 10:00 A.M. at Price’s Cemetery with Bro. W.E. Shiflet and Bro. Marvin Hollie officiating. Services are under the direction of Bailey and Foster .
Pride is always a good thing to have, but please never let it get in the way of healing hurt feelings or mending broken fences. We love you Daddy and will miss you more than you’ll ever know.
