Memorial Services for Kermit Upshaw, age 54, of Spring and formerly of Palestine will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Jay Abernathy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Upshaw died Monday in Houston. He was born July 24, 1960 in Monroe, LA. He was retired from Homeland Security as a pilot and served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army as a warrant officer. Mr. Upshaw enjoyed fishing, traveling, flying and motorcycle riding.
Mr. Upshaw was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Era Upshaw, and Cecil and Clara Ellison.
He is survived by his father and step-mother, Winston and Melba Upshaw, his mother and step father, Pat and Harold Skidmore, daughter Colleen Upshaw of San Antonio, son, Zachary Upshaw of Houston, sisters, Tracy Betz and husband Bob of Tyler, and Laura Upshaw of Palestine, nephew, Jason Perry of Tyler, and numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
