Diana Hays Venable, 67, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on the 1st of February 2014.

Diana was born on the 30th of January 1947, in Palestine, Texas to the late Virginia Brown and Harry Hays. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1965 and moved to Dallas where she lived most of her life. She was employed at Texas Color/Quebecor/World Color printing for 35 years where she had many beloved friends and enjoyed going to work every day.

Diana lived on Lake Lewisville for many years where she enjoyed being near the lake with her husband entertaining their many children, grandchildren and friends. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandma, and friend to those who knew her and will be missed dearly.

Diana was preceded in death by mother-in-law Pauline Venable; sister-in-law Jo Venable Thomas and her dogs Prissy and Charlie. She is survived by her husband, Mike Venable of Chandler; daughter, Kayce Sheridan of Frankston; son, Chris Sheridan and his wife Carla of Elkhart; stepsons, Mike, Jim, Bob, and Ernest Venable of Hamilton, Ohio; brother, Mike Hays of Elkhart; father-in-law, James Venable of Summerville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Mark Venable of Manila, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Paula Venable and Patsy Venable Turman of Hamilton, Ohio; grandchildren, Chris Davis, Brady Nash, Allison Sheridan, Austin Sheridan, and Kloe Richards; 12 step grandchildren in Hamilton, Ohio; nephews, Michael Hays and Matt Hays; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery with Dr. Bill Gernenz officiating. A visitation will be held from 11-12 noon on Wednesday at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Brady Nash, Chris Davis, Austin Sheridan, Matt Hays, Michael Hays, and Rayven Richards.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elkhart or to the Henderson County Humane Society in Athens.
