Wynelda Joy Calcote Pesce – 1950

Services for Wynelda Joy Pesce, age 80 of Palestine, will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Zach officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee Colony Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, followed by visitation at 7:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. Pesce died Monday at Cartmell Home. She was born June 16, 1933 in Palestine to DeSelous and Edith Seagler Calcote. She worked as a bookkeeper for various local businesses including Aluminum Company of America, followed by Jerry Spencer/ Spencer Distributing where she retired in the mid 90’s. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Pesce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel J. Pesce, two sisters, Sue Napoleon and Mary Floyd, and brothers, Bobby Calcote and Bill Calcote.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah Joy Pesce of Ft. Worth, son Paul Pesce and wife Ann of Palestine, a brother Jack Calcote and wife Lynn of Palestine, grandchildren, Damon Pesce and Crystal Lovelady Rose of Webster, TX. and Spencer and Jennifer Pesce of Palestine, great grandchildren, Richard Sophia and Harper, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews Grady Wilcox, James Floyd, Lance Napoleon, Dee Napoleon, David Goble and Christian Pesce. Honorary pallbearers will be great nephews, Jacob Wilcox, Christopher Jordan, Tony Floyd, Alan Goble and Michael Goble.

Mrs. Pesce was a devoted mother and grandmother “Nana” to her grandsons and their friends. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening with her son, and passing along treasured family recipes. She will be remembered for her gentle nature, her kind spirit, and for the wonderful Italian food she served at big family dinners.
