Roy Raymond Goodson, 93, was born October 26, 1920, in Palestine, TX, and went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2014, in Baytown TX.  He loved God and was a devoted Christian. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Baytown, TX.  Overall, he cherished his faith and family.  He will be deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Vera Belle Goodson of Baytown, TX; brother Frank Goodson and wife Sarah of Jacksonville, TX; sister Elvira McCall and husband John of Crockett, TX; brother Lloyd Goodson and wife Barbara of Hemphill, TX; daughter Linda Enck and husband Ray of Seabrook, TX; daughter Phyllis Buckley and husband Wayne of Clear Lake, TX; son Bill Goodson and wife Janette of Baytown, TX; and daughter Paula Goodson of Baytown, TX. He is preceded in death by siblings Clifford Goodson and Ida Lee Parkman.
He also leaves behind grandchildren Angela Courville and husband Shane of Irving, TX; Barbi Mitchell of Baytown, TX; Candice Dotson and husband Joey of Baytown, TX; Amy Marshman and husband Lynn of League City, TX; Tammy Bailey and husband Jason of Baytown, TX; Tanya Goodson, of Tyler, TX and, Crystal Dunaway and husband Bryan of Baytown , TX. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
He worked at Menasco Manufacturing Co. in Burbank, CA, before joining the U.S. Army, serving in World War II from 1944-1946.  He retired from Ethyl Corp. in 1983 after 31 years of employment.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the funeral home with Brother Roy Parker and Rev. Bill Yowell officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Shane Courville, Scott Witt, Joey Dotson, Lynn Marshman, Jason Bailey, Chris Ovalle, and Bryan Dunaway.
