Palestine High School Alumni Association

Carroll Herman Graser was born July 27, 1938, in the Harmony Community to Herman William and Louise Carroll Graser. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 5, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie Graser Calloway; first wife, Barbara Graser; infant son, Guy Graser; and faithful companion of 19 years, Dolly-Dog.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Darlene Graser; daughter, Erin Rhone and husband Jerry and son, Adam Graser and wife Toni all of Palestine; and daughters, Shannon Lafontaine and Sarah Lafontaine both of Ottawa, Canada; grandsons, Jason Owens and wife Erika of Lawrenceville, GA, Eric Graser and fiance Georgia English of Hampton, GA, Alex Graser of Palestine, Shane Rhone and wife Regina of Palestine, and Larry Rhone of Buffalo; mother-in-law, Elsie Dupuis of Ontario, Canada; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in the United States and Canada.

Carroll was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and spent 42 years in the telephone installation and service industry. He was a member of the Retired Telephone Employees Group of Palestine and the Gem & Mineral Club of Tyler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice of East Texas or the American Cancer Society.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, August 8, 2014, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
