Beautiful wife and loving, devoted mother Catherine Anne Routh Watson departed the tribulations of this mortal life on Saturday July 18, 2014.
Catherine was born in Gainesville, Texas on March 22, 1958 to Joe Mack Routh Sr. and Gwendolyn Kerr Routh. The Routh family moved to Palestine in 1960, when Catherine’s father became rector of St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church. Catherine graduated from Palestine High School in 1976 and moved to Austin, Texas in 1976 where she lived most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, Jane Routh Nickle.
She raised four children and she is survived by her husband of 27 years, James Watson. Also surviving her are sons, Jon Paul Desrosiers (Brenda) of El Paso and James C. Watson (Lacy) of Austin; daughters, Tiffany Anne Desrosiers Roberts (Scott) and Michelle Rose Watson Winscher (Bobby), both of Austin; eight grandchildren; brothers, Joe Mack Routh and Clay Lawrence Routh, both of Houston; and sisters, Joan Routh Lohbauer of Palestine and Libby Routh Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas.
A memorial service for Catherine will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church, 106 E. Crawford St., in Palestine.
