Harry Briscoe Selden Jr. 75 of Palestine died Sat. April 12,2014, at The Cartmell Home.

Mr. Selden was born on Feb.20,1939 in Palestine, son of Harry & Jennie Selden. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry & Jennie Selden. Mr. Selden graduated from Palestine High School & Texas Tech University. Mr. Selden was a mechanical engineer for Bell Helicopter until his retirement in the year 2000.

Survivors include his sister Sherea Sue Sumrall of Palestine, his niece Suzanne Ware and husband Carl of Palestine, his nephew Harry Sumrall and wife Leslie of Oakland, Ca.; great nephew Mike Ware and wife Catherine of Palestine, great niece Holly Chason and husband Chad of Tomball, and great nephew Sam Sumrall of San Francisco, Ca.

Mr. Selden also had three great, great nieces, Ella Ware and Addy Hogg of Palestine, Elizabeth Chason of Tomball and two great, great nephews Peter and Michael Ware of Palestine.

Graveside services will be held Thur. April 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Palestine City Cemetery, with Rev. Woody Meredith officiating. Arrangements have been made with Bailey and Foster Funeral Home in Palestine.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.

And to The Cartmell Home…the family deeply appreciates all the care and compassion Mr. Selden (Lightning) received while being in their care…also for all the support and help they’ve been to each one of us!
