Mr. Ryan was born March 9, 1952 to Edward William Ryan and Ruby May Mitchell Ryan in Palestine Texas, and passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Palestine Regional Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.

Denis was an avid motorcyclist who loved to travel the U.S with his friends. He had a passion for photography, enjoying capturing photos of both nature and of his family. Denis always had a smile on his face, and had the best laugh. He was a very spiritual person with a great value for life. Denis had a strong work ethics, he was very creative, and took pride in a job well done.  Denis was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Ryan of Slocum; daughters, Robyn Ryan Morrow and husband Chad, of Palestine, and Melanie Elrod, of Sugarland, Texas; brothers, William J. “Bill” Ryan and wife Sally, of Spicewood, Texas, and Charles Ryan of Flint Texas; sister, Ellen Kimbrough and husband Jackie, of Palestine; six grandchildren. Caleb Ryan Morrow, Caitlyn Morrow, Cyndee Elrod, Whitnee Davis, Piper Elrod, and Rylee Haupt; two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
