Services for Valentine “Vallie” Callahan, 73, of Dallas will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palestine with the Rev. Harold Paulsen officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Callahan died Sunday at Saint Paul’s Hospital in Dallas. She was born February 14, 1915 in Palestine, daughter of Carl Thomas Biehler and Ruby Peck Biehler. She a 1932 graduate of Palestine High School and a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Dallas.
She is survived by her husband, David Patrick Callahan, Sr. of Dallas; daughter, Theresa C. Butler of Dallas; sons, David P. Callahan, Jr. of DsLoge, MO., and Michael Thomas Callahan of Richardson; brother, William Arthur Biehler of Waxahachie; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Schwab, William Coward, Stephen Butler, Philip Gray, Pat Callahan, Michael Callahan, Bill Nash and Mike Auccoin.
