Olive Marie Walston Blissitte – 1953

Olive Marie (Walston) Blissitte, 77, of Lufkin, was born January 23, 1935 in Palestine, Texas, the daughter of the late Edna Moss (Gholston) and Ollie Walston. She passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in a local nursing facility.

Ms. Blissitte graduated from Palestine High School. Following that, she moved to Dallas for 15 years and then moved to Nacogdoches, working at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. She later moved to Lufkin while still working at Memorial Hospital. She drove a school bus for Tri-County Community Action Center until she retired. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking and loved all animals.

Ms. Blissitte was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a devout member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

She is survived by her niece, Debbie Hipp and husband Jim of Irving; brothers, Bob Walston and Don Walston; and several other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Ms. Blissitte will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2212 E. Lufkin Avenue, Lufkin, Texas.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.
