Christian Josue Chavez, 24, of 711 E. Lamar, Palestine, passed away in a car accident on March 16, 2013.

Christian was born in Palestine, Texas on Oct. 27, 1988 to Luis Chavez and Nora Chavez. He graduated from Palestine High School and attended Trinity Valley Community College at the Palestine campus.

Christian was a person full of life and joy who loved people. His personality touched many lives. He was a very active young man. He enjoyed playing soccer and having fun with everybody. He was loved very much by his parents, family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Luis and Nora Chavez; brother, Fabio Chavez; and sister, Jasmine Chavez of Palestine; grandmother, Cristina Quionez, of Guatemala; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Evangelistic Temple, 3011 N. Loop 256, in Palestine. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Condolence calls will take place Friday, March 22, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Fabio Chavez, Jose Chavez, Erick Rangel, Tyler Dickerson, Pedro Ontiveros and Moises Martinez.
