Orline Herrington DuPree 1937
Born July 14, 1919 to Mary Elizabeth Sammons Herrington and George Carlton Herrington in Brushy Creek, Texas, Orline DuPree passed quietly from this life on March 8, 2013 at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Denton, Texas. She married Connie L. DuPree on July 3, 1938, in Palestine, Texas, where they made their home for many years. He preceded her in death in 1963.
She was employed as a medical clinic receptionist and later as a bookkeeper for an oil field supply company until the 1990s when vision problems necessitated her retirement. She moved to Burleson, Texas, in 1997 to live with her beloved sister-in-law, Joy DuPree Funderburk. In 2001 Orline moved to Denton, Texas, to be closer to her son and grandchildren.
Orline and Connie loved to travel. During the 1950s they and their children made annual trips to many of this country’s scenic wonders, particularly in the west. After his death she continued to travel as her vision would permit. Trips to Europe with her nephews, Paul and David Herrington, and several bus trips into Canada were among her cherished memories.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lurline DuPree of Denton, and son Russell DuPree of Walnut Creek, California, grandchildren Nicole May and spouse Perry of Denton and grandson David DuPree and spouse Rachel of Richardson, Texas; great-grandchildren Jack, Lewis, and Taylor DuPree and Dylan, Andrew, Cole, and Chloe May; and numerous nieces and nephews.
