Charles Walker was born Jan. 2, 1931, in Bryan and passed away Jan. 27, 2013, in Plano.

He graduated in 1949 from Palestine High School and attended Henderson County Junior College before enlisting in the Navy. He was a longtime managing partner of Town North Bowling Center in Richardson until the closing in 1985. He was an active volunteer throughout his life with youth coaching, Boy Scouts, civic organizations, Smith County Sheriff’s Department and a life member of the PTA. He will be remembered for his quick wit and one-liners. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles B. Walker and Mamie Powers Walker.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Margaret Blount Walker; brother, James B. Walker; children and grandchildren, Boo, Lea, Cory, Megan, Lindsay Walker, Mike, Judy, Michael, Kara, Jonathan Walker, Cheryl, Lance, Charlsie, Brittany, Cheyenne Hearnsberger, Laura, Bobby, Jared, Karron, Jaclyn Pitcock.

Family will receive friends on Feb. 1, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. at Restland Wildwood Chapel by Charles W. Harrison.
