Newell Bryan Kane was born April 6, 1929 in Palestine and died Jan. 23, 2013 in the David E. Foster Hospice Unit at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service to honor the Palestine native will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the old Swanson Cemetery (next to Texas State Railroad).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palestine Public Library and/or Anderson County Historical Commission.
