Funeral services for Mable James of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Westwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Dees officiating. Burial will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
In the early hours of Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 Mable James began her journey to greet her savior. She was born in Cleburne, Texas on May 30, 1913 and passed away at the age of 99 years. She moved with her family to Anderson County at an early age. She attended Four Pines School and then graduated from Palestine High School. She was a charter member of Westwood Baptist Church and a faithful servant in God’s work until she was no longer able to do so.
Mable was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Nettie Moser; three brothers, R.A. Moser and Leo Moser of Palestine and Leslie Moser of Waco; three sisters, Drew Elrod, Odessa Blanton and Jean Price, all of Palestine.
She is survived by one sister, Evelyn Moore of Palestine; three children, Curtis James, Marshal James and Olivia Luce, all of Palestine; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Keith James, Kelvin James, Tom Hall, Jimmy Harris, Dennis Moser and Jerry Holcomb. Honorary pallbearers will be John Moser, Pat Bell and Mike Bell.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
