Funeral services for Rose Nemer, 86, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Philips Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ted Welty officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.

Ms. Nemer died Tuesday at her residence.

She was born Dec. 7, 1925 in Palestine, to Abraham and Nazly Chakur Nemer.

Ms. Nemer was a long time employee of Bailey & Foster, and a member of St. Philips Episcopal Church. She was a charter member of Harvey Woman’s Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3907 Ladies Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Julia Nemer Kraus, Hazel Nemer Nichols, Ethel Nemer Rogers and Julienne (Jay) Nemer Mann; brothers, Costor Nemer, Nicholas Nemer and Alexander Nemer; nephew, Michael Abraham Nemer; nieces, Ethel Elena Nemer and Rozanne Rogers.

Ms. Nemer is survived by nieces, Judith Anne Nemer, Barbara Nemer and Rose Marie Nemer Farah; nephews, Alex Nemer II and Joseph Ray Nichols; great-nieces, Carrie Jane Sidebotham, Ashley Elizabeth Nemer, Dawn Marie Nichols and Sarahmarie Ann Nichols; great-nephews, William George Farah and Lawrence Costor Farah.

A very heartfelt thank you goes out to Rosie’s special loving caregivers, Velma “Helen” Roberts, Ashley “Carl” Blair and Gwen “Jolly St.” Williams.

Pallbearers will be Alex Nemer II, Michael D. Foster, Jon Rhone, Bill Kashouty, Dr. David Alkek, Mark Davis and John Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Clark, Frank George, Johnny Elfarr, William George Farah and Lawrence Costor Farah.

Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster.
