Services for Horace Campbell Valentine, 83, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Alton Jones and Rev. Harold Lawton officiating.  Burial will be in the Broyles Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Valentine was born in Anderson County on August 23, 1906 to the late Charlie Thomas and Annie Harper Valentine.  He was a rancher in Anderson County and a member of the Brushy Creek Methodist Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo Massengale Valentine on February 25, 1979.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Cleo M. Merikle of Palestine; brothers, Colonel Charles H. Valentine of Palestine and J. Coy Valentine of Tyler; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be George Elrod McIntire, Larry Jung, Earl King, Sammy Overton, Garvis Crutcher, George Vickers, Roy Herrington, Gordon Broughton and R.M. Mitchell.

Condolence calls will be received at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
