Modenia Johnston Whiddon 1940

Mrs. J.A. (Modenia) Whiddon, 54, died Sunday in Anderson County Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hassell & Foster Chapel with Dr. Foy Moser officiating. Burial will be in Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Whiddon was born in Denson Springs on April 28, 1922 and was lifelong resident of Anderson County. She was a daughter of Johnnie Estelle Cone Johnston and the late James Monroe Johnston. Mrs. Whiddon was a graduate of Palestine High School and a member of Grace Baptist Church. For 21 years she was employed as a licensed vocational nurse at Missouri Pacific Lines Employees Association Hospital in Palestine.
Survivors include her husband, James A Whiddon of Palestine; mother, Johnnie Estelle Johnston of Palestine; daughters, Mrs. James D. (Cathy) Hardison and Mrs. Rodney (Pat) DuBoise, both of Palestine; step-daughter, Mrs. Barbara A. Crawford of Midland; step-son, Mickey R. Whiddon of Atlanta and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Hoyt Johnston, Jimmy Johnston, Robert Johnston, Theron Wilson, Frankie Moore and Carnie H. (Slick) Wilson.
The family will receive condolence calls at the Whiddon residence.
