Funeral services for Calvin W. Reitch, 78, who died at 10 a.m. Friday in a local hospits, following a brief illness, will be held at 3 p.m. today in the First Christian Church with Rev. Maxwell Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the New Addition Cemetery with a Masonic service at the graveside.
Mr. Reitch was born in Palestine August 16, 1897, son of Hugo W. and Mrs. Lela Scott Reitch. He graduated in 1917 from Palestine High School and attended Rice University in Houston. He was a retired traveling accountant for Missouri Pacific Railroad. A longtime member of First Christian Church, Mr. Reitch has also received his 50 year membership pin in the Palestine Masonice Lodge.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Marion Dupree Reitch of Palestine; daughter, Mrs. William (Dorothy Ann) Mitchell of Kingsville; and two grandsons, William H. Mitchell, Jr. and Reese Reitch Mitchell, both of Kingsville.
Pallbearers will be Malcolm Smith, J.O. DeChaumes, Walter Johnston, Dick Perry, Alton King, Maurice Rosson, Dr. Weldon Carter and Dana Pennybacker.
