Funeral services will be held for Ruth Morris Harris at 4 p.m. today in the Bailey Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tom Potts officiating. Burial will be in the Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Earle (Ruth) Harris, formerly of Palestine, died in an Austin hospital at 3 p.m. Tuesday following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Harris, the former Ruth Morris was born in Paletine on March 6, 1925 to Fount Lee Morris and Maude Dailey Morris. She was a 1943 graduate of Palestine High School and had been employed by East Texas National Bank here for 10 years prior to working for about 10 years in the general offices of Missouri Pacific Railroad. She was a member of the Evangelistic Temple and at the time of her death was employed by Peoples National Bank in Spring Branch.
Survivors include her husband, Earle Harris of Houston; mother, Mrs. F.L. Morris of Palestine, brother, R.H. Morris of Austin; sisters, Mrs. Ruby Dunlap of Cleburne and Mrs. Mae Godfrey of Austin and several nieces and nephews.
