Ida Lee Goodson Parkman 1942

After a long courageous battle with cancer, Ida Lee Goodson Parkman, 87, passed away July 24, 2012 in Hawaii.
Ida Lee was born in Palestine, Texas on Nov. 4, 1924.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Parkman; her parents, Amy and Horace Goodson; a brother, Clifford Goodson; and a grandson, Chad Brown.
Ida Lee is survived by her daughters, Jimmy Lee Brown and Sheila Link and husband Andy; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy Goodson and wife Vera Belle of Baytown, Texas, Frank Goodson and wife Sarah of Jacksonville, Texas, Lloyd Goodson and wife Barbara of Hemphill, Texas; sister, Elvira Goodson McCall and husband Dr. John McCall of Crockett, Texas. She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Ida Lee was a 1942 graduate of Palestine High School and was a graduate of Nixon Business College. She worked as a secretary and payroll clerk at Texize Chemical Plant for many years. She loved to paint landscapes and flowers and taught oil painting in her home. She was a devoted member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ in Palestine.
Ida was a loving person, loved her husband, her family and her children and we, her family, loved her dearly.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel officiating.
