Services for Kathy Webb Gurganus, 40 of Palestine will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church with Dr. Tom Rousseau officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Park under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gurganus died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler after a brief illness. She was born in Palestine on December 17, 1956 to Charles Cleveland and Virginia Hixon Webb. She has lived in Palestine all of her life and was a member of First Christian Church. She was a 1975 graduate of Palestine High School and a graduate of Tyler Junior College. She had worked as a secretary at Washington School for five years and was involved in many activities with school children and an active PTA supporter. She was preceded in death by her mother in April 1995.
She is survived by her husband, Felder G. Gurganus of Palestine; sons, Casey Gurganus and Charles “Brother” Gurganus of Palestine; daughter, Katie Gurganus of Palestine; father, Charlie Webb of Palestine; brother, Charles Webb of Longview and Ronnie Webb of Mesquite; sister, Mary Vossler of Cypress; and grandmother, Ruby Gurganus of Elkhart.
Pallbearers will be Dale W. Smith, Keith Eiben, Cecil Staples, Bill Green, Vic Poff and Doug Smith.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
