Services for Robert Frantzen, 63, of Palestine will be today at 2 p.m. in Hassell & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack DuPree officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Park with Palestine Masonic Lodge No. 31 in charge of graveside services.

Mr. Frantzen died Friday in a San Antonio hospital after a sudden illness.  He was born on September 26, 1921 in Palestine son of Harry and Louisa Mumme Frantzen.  A retired businessman who was a partner in Frantzen Brothers Grocery Store for many years.  He was currently employed as a correctional officer at the Beto I Unit.  He was an elder of the First Christian Church.

Frantzen had served as Master of the Palestine Masonic Lodge No. 31; High Priest of Palestine Chapter #10 R.A.M.; Thrice Illustrious Master of Willis Stewart Council No. 20 R&SM; Commander of Palestine Commandery No. 3 Knights Templar; Patron of Palestine Chapter No. 395 OES; District Deputy of District 117 Grand Lodge of Texas; District Grand High Priest of Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas, and District Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Texas.

He was also an Honor Knight of York Cross of Honor (KYCH), a 32nd Degree Mason of the Waco Scottish Rite Consistory and a Shriner of the Sharon Temple of Tyler.

Survivors include his wife, Marion Wilson Frantzen; a daughter, Martha Carpenter of Silsbee; sons, Larry Frantzen of Diana and Don Frantzen of Bergheim; sister, Rynie Holderfield of Dallas; brothers, Andrew (Andy) Frantzen and Raymond (Dutch) Frantzen, both of Palestine, and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of the Palestine Masonic Lodge #31.
