Graveside services for Elsie Morton Blue, 91, of Dallas and formerly of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Tom Grissom officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mrs. Blue died today in Dallas.  She was born March 6, 1912 in Fredonia to Marshall Powers Morton and Dora Slimp Morton.  She graduated from Palestine High School and had lived in Palestine and the McAlester and Tulsa, OK areas working as a theater manager.  She was active in civic and philanthropic activities and a member of the Grace Methodist Church.

Mrs. Blue was preceded in death by her husband, Alex P. Blue in August, 1990.

She is survived by son, Alexander Philip Blue and wife Carol of Las Cruces, NM; daughter, Mary Ann Blue of Dallas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Allen and Ruth Watlington and M.P. and Nancy Morton all of Palestine; numerous other nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Miller, Allen Watlington, M.P. Morton, Kelly Watlington, Joe Watlington and Michael Morton.

Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
