Funeral services for James B. Meese will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hassell & Foster Chapel here with Rev. W. A. Riemann, St. Philip’s pastor officiating.  Burial will follow in the Land Of Memory Cemetery.   The body will lie in state at Hassell & Foster prior to last rites.

James Benjamin Meese, a native of Palestine died at 5:15 a.m. today in a Dallas hospital following a long illness.  He was 21.  A 1956 graduate of Palestine High School, Meese also attended the University of Houston and was employed by the Eric Ehrinborg Appraisal Company in Brownfield at the time of his death.  He was a member of St. Philip’s Eqpscopal Church in Palestine.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Eleanor Clark of Palestine; his grandmother, Mrs. Corrie Hearn of Palestine; brother, William S. “Bill” Askew of Palestine; and sisters, Mrs. Valton West of Palestine and Mrs. Robert D. Hall of Irving.
