Funeral services for M. L. Austin, 12 Sandy Lane, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hassell & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herman Milikan and Rev. James Knight officiating. Burial will be in New Additiona Cemetery.
Mr. Austin died Thursday in Anderson County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Montalba, son of the late Dr. Marshall Lee Austin, Sr. and Effie Mae Watkins Austin. He was reared in Montalba, graduated from Palestine High School and attended Sam Houston State College. A resident of Palestine since 1945, he was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and a retired clerk for the U.S. Postal Service here, with 15 years of service. During World War II, he served in the Air Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Hambrick Austin of Palestine; sister, Mrs. T. J. Auld of Palestine; two nieces, Miss Brenda Auld of Houston and Mrs. Dan (Maryan) Gertson of Lissie; two nephews, Jeff Auld of Amarillo and Dr. Bruce Austin of Texas City.
Pallbearers will be Frank Glenn, George Droby, Clyde Woodard, Rip Hardin, John S. Ford and Maurice Rosson.
In addition to all friends of the family, the following have been designated honorary pallbearers, Roy E. DeLaFosse, P.B. Glenn, John Hatzenbuehler, Murphy Douglas, Reuben Crawford and Jack Hockridge.
Condolence calls will be received at the Austin residence, 12 Sandy Lane.
