Funeral services for Thomas H. Allen, Sr., 64 of Odessa, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bailey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ben Reily officiating. Burial will be in New Addition Cemetery.
Mr. Allen died Wednesday in a Houston area hospital. A native of Palestine, he was born October 15, 1918, son of the late Hall and Gladys Carpenter Allen. He made his home in Odessa where he was employed by Mobil Oil Corp, in the transportation department. He was a Methodist and a former member of the Grace United Methodist Church here. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the Arm in the European theatre for which he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of Odessa Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Harrell Allen, Jr. of Rancho-Cucomongo, California; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Marion Neel of Houston and Malinda Rimes of Palestine; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Herman Wright, Jessie Ramsey, Hoyt clay, Verle Vance, Roger Vance and Bob C. Henderson.
Condolence calls will be received at the Rimes residence, 602 S. May.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Palestine Carnegie Library.
