Services for Will D. “Bill” Selman, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Waters officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park.
Mr. Selman died Friday morning at Trinity Valley Medical Center. He was born on May 10, 1925 in Palestine to John Reagan Selman and Frances Davis Selman. He retired as vice-president in Administration for Chicago Northwestern Transportation. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Palestine. He was a member of Kiwanis Club, former president of Palestine Chapter of the American Red Cross, former trustee of the Illinois Baptist Association, former trustree of the Southern Baptist Sunday School Board and former chairman of the American Association of Railroads.
Mr. Selman is survived by his wife, Doris Brooks Selman of Palestine, mother, Frances Selman of Crockett; sister, Pat Kelley of Crockett; brother, Hugh Selman of Broken Arrow, OK.; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Johnnie Herrington, W.L. Green, Thomas Stillwell, Thurman Gibson, Bob Henderson, and Bill Haney. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Wilson, Robert Russell, Larry Ramsey, Dr. Robert McFarlane and members of James Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.
The family will receive condolence calls at the Selman residence.
Memorial may be made to Sunshine Guild of Trinity Valley Medical Center Scholarship Fund or to a charity of choice.
