Services for James William Rawley, 85, of Rockport, were held Monday at Ecumenical Church in Lakeway with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport.
Mr. Rawley died Friday at his home in Rockport. He was born in Palestine on April 26, 1911 to Dr. Walter Fleming Rawley and Mable Dean Rawley. He retired from Texaco Oil Company as vice president in 1972 and lived in Lakeway, until moving to Rockport.
Mr. Rawley was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Johnson Rawley; and two brothers, Walter Miller Rawley and Parker Hallett Rawley.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Nan Rawley of Rockport; brother, George Richard Rawley of Denton; sisters, Mary Ellen Rawley of Rockport and Clara June Rawley Cooper of Boulder, CO.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
