Services for Randall Lee Brown, 40, of Longview, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Norwood Heights Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Grasty Brown and Gene Forrell officiating. Burial will be at Neches Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory.
Mr. Brown died Wednesday in Mansfield after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Palestine on Dec. 13,1955, to Elvin E. and Dorothy Wedgeworth Brown. He taught at Story School in Palestine and then pursued a career in counseling before being stricken with a lengthy illness.
Mr. Brown graduated from Palestine High School in 1974 and earned a bachelor’s degree in history and English from Stephen F. Austin State University. He also earned master’s degrees in special education and counseling.
He had been a member of Norwood Heights Baptist Church and was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Longview at the time of his death.
He is survived by his parents, of Palestine; wife, Iris Millettc Brown of Longview; brothers, Garald Brown of Neches and Michael Van Brown of Corsicana; and a sister, Beverly Van Deman of Neches.
Pallbearers will be Michael Van Brown, Garald Brown, Don Davis, Doyce Wayne Wedgeworth, Clayton Thornton and Don George.
Condolence calls will be received from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
