Services for John B. Thompson, 36, of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bert Bagely officiating.  The body will be cremated.  Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington Land of Memory Funeral Home.  Mr. Thompson was found dead in his house on Wednesday.

He was born September 7, 1956 in Palestine to Royce B. and Martha Thompson.  He graduated from Palestine High School in 1975 and attended the University of Texas in Austin.  He graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA in 1982.  He was a medical technician and worked in Temple, Tyler and Whitney hospitals. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palestine.

He is survived by his parents Royce B. and Martha Thompson of Claxton, GA., brothers, Royce B. Thompson, Jr. of Houston and Henry Thompson of Savannah, GA; and a sister, Ann Thompson of Claxton, GA.

The family will receive condolences in the church parlor after the memorial service.
