Services for Max Stanaland, 68, of Chandler will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Chandler United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Fisher officiating.  Burial will be in Broyles Chapel Cemetery near Palestine under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler.  Mr. Stanaland died Tuesday at his residence after a brief illness.

A native of Palestine, he was born December 4, 1922.  He had lived in Chandler for eight years and was a retired Civil Service employee and musician.  He was a member of Chandler United Methodist Church.  He served in the Army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Theopa Stanaland of Chandler; daughter, Pamela Crockett of Fort Worth; brother, Hugh Frank Stanaland of Tyler; sister, Mrs. O.C. Lunsford of Tyler; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Buzz Messner, Jack Smith, Brian Cannon and Harold Burgess.
