Services for Richard H. Norwood Sr., 63 of Palestine and formerly of Pamp, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Herrington Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Fisher officiating.  Burial will be at Land of Memory Cemetery.  Mr. Norwood died Friday afternoon at a Tyler hospital after a lengthy illness.  He was born September 23, 1929 in Palestine to Albert H. and Lena Mae Goodner Norwood.

He had served in the U.S. Navy and worked for 30 years as a fireman.  He was retired from the Pampa Fire Department.  He was a member of the Panhandle Fireman’s Association and the Moose Lodge.  He was a Baptist.  He returned to Palesitne in 1979 after retiring.

He is survived by his wife, Cleta Norwood of Palestine; son, Richard H. Norwood, Jr. of Elkhart; daughter, Jana Ramirez of Palestine; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Bruce, Harold Petty and members of the Palestine Fire Department.
