Services for Ruthie Nicholson, 66, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Herrington Land of Memory Funeral Home with Revs. Lee Ray Best, John Lockler and David Beirne officiating.  Burial will be at Herrington Land of Memory Cemetery.  Mrs. Nicholson died Monday at Trinity Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.  She was born in Anderson on August 26, 1926 to Bry Ester and Alberta Starling Collins.  She had lived here all her life, and retired as a teacher’s aid with the Westwood school district.  She was a member of Broyles Chapel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Nicholson is survived by her husband, James Nicholson of Palestine; daughters, Wanda Sims of Palestine and Sue Lockler of Bridge City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Nicholson, Norman Collins, Rusty Collins, Johnny Hobson, Jimmy Hobson and Ronnie Wooten.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 – 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
