Services for Dorothy Evelyn Nicholson, 75, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Waters officiating.   Burial will be at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington Land of Memory Funeral Home.  Mrs. Nicholson died Sunday at a Tyler hospital after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Cleburne on January 19, 1918 to Franklin Marvin and Zola Katherin Young White.  She retired from Royal National Bank after 28 years of service.  Mrs. Nicholson was an active member of the Anderson County Genealogy Society and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her mother in 1983; her father in 1966; and her brother, Franklin M. White, Jr. in 1981.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Herbert Stowe Nicholson of Palestine; son, Calvin Wayne Nicholson of Palestine; brother, Bill White of San Pable, CA; sister, Gladys Laverne Durrett of New Summerfield; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be John Dale Eppes, Ronnie White, Rick White, Nick Nicholson, Ken Alford, Johnny Youngblood, James Nicholson, Jessie Nicholson, Steve Main and Lee Reinhard.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 – 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
