Services for Emeline Eilenberger Lockey, 91, of Palestine, will be at 2 pm. Wednesday at Land of Memory Cemetery with Rev. John Johnson officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Herrington Land of Memory. Mrs. Lockey died Monday at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Tyler, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 16, 1900 in Palestine to Herman and Dorthea Jorgeson Eilenberger, Sr. A member of First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Lockey also was in charge of listening sessions for the blind while she was a resident at Palestine Nursing Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burke Lockey; daughter, Louise Rapier; brother, Herman Eilenberger, Jr.; and sisters, Louise Lockey, Dorothy Westerman and Alice Stewart.
Mrs. Lockey is survived by her daughter, Joy Brumley of Overland Park, Kan.; brother, Fred Eilenberger of Palestine; sisters, Edith Imhoff of Houston and Elizabeth Saunders of Longview; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
