Services for A.B. Jones, 81, of Palestine will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Tom Rousseau officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Park with Masonic graveside rites. Mr. Jones died Sunday afternoon at a Palestine nursing home. He was born April 16, 1913 in Palestine to Jesse Allen and Della Mae Ringo Jones.
He joined L & L Shoe Store in 1937 and worked there until his retirement in 1983. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served with the U.S. Army in the Asian-Pacific theatre. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 31 AR&AM.
Mr. Jones was survived by his wife, Mary Braly Jones of Palestine; sister, Savilla Schwab of Palestine; brother, Fred M. Jones of Palestine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Members of Palestine Masonic Lodge No. 21 AF&AM will serve as pallbearers.
Condolence calls will be received from 7 – 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
