Ned Hardman Herrington 1938

Services for Ned Hardman Herrington, 74, of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Herrington Land of Memory with the Revs. Bud Peters and DeWitt Weaver officiating.  Burial will be at Olive Branch Cemetery in Brush Creek.  Mr. Herrington died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital.  Me was born in Anderson County on January 17, 1920 to Rufus and Clara Herrington.  He retired from monsanto Chemical Co. in Texas City and returned to Palestine and was a rancher.

Mr. Herrington had lived here most of his life and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Brushy Creek.  He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, and as a staff sergeant with the 27th fighter squadron in North Africa.  Mr. Herrington was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Stewart Herrington; son, Paul Herrington; and a granddaughter.

He is survived by his son, Mike Herrington of Palestine; brother, E.C. Herrington of Palestine; sister, Johnnie Estes of Midland; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Elvin Elrod, John Clay, Melvin Elrod, Tom Johnston, Mike Auther and Jim Cox.

Condolence calls will be received from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
