Services for Gloria Long Goodwin 45 of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Herrington Land of Memory with Revs David Beirne and Max Martin officiating.  Burial will be at Land of Memory Cemetery.  Mrs. Goodwin died Wednesday at Methodist Hospital in Houston after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Palestine on August 16, 1948 to Melvin and Lucy Chapman Long.  She had lived in Palestine all of her life and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers.

She is survived by her husband, James Goodwin; daughter, Annette Goodwin; her mother; and brothers, Charles and Mike Long, all of Palestine.

Pallbearers will be Mark Matthews, Robert Matthews, Waltie Matthews, Kevin Holcomb, Scott Holcomb and Gary Holcomb.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
