Services for Madge Hanson Gillespie 84 of Vicksburg, Mississippi, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Addition Cemetery in Palestine with the Rev. Harold Reese Gillespie, Jr. officiating.  Burial will be under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.  Mrs. Gillespie died Wednesday at Vicksburg Medical Center.

A native of Palestine, she was born May 7, 1907 to Carlton and Mary Phillips Hanson.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Vicksburg and a charter member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas in Palestine.  She married Harry Reese Gillespie in 1924 at First Presbyterian Church, Palestine.

She is survived by her husband of Vicksburg; daughter, Susan DeBard-Gillespie-Withey of Woodland Hills, California; sons, Rev. Harold R. Gillespie, Jr. of Bend, Oregon and John H. Gillespie of McAllen; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chester Hendrick, Emmett Hendrick, Jon Hanson Gillespie, Jr., John R. Blanchard, Tom Blakeney, Stoney Stubbs, Austin A. Smith, Don C. Clarke and W.H. Lindley.

Condolence calls will be from 7 – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
