Services for Ola May Featherstone Elliott, 89, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Walston Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Moore officiating.  Burial will be at Chambers Cemetery under the direction Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.  Mrs. Elliott died Thursday at Villa Inn Nursing Center.  She was born May 19, 1904 in Anderson County to W. Fred and Lena May Starkes Featherstone.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Elbridge “Pete” Elliott, on April 30, 1983; her foster son, William B. Starkes; and two brothers, Bert Featherstone and Jesse Featherston.  She was the oldest member of Walston Springs Baptist Church, where she served as secretary for 33 1/2 years.  Prior to retiring, she was a grocery store operator and a homemaker.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Eleanor Frix, Virgie Featherstone, Helen Featherstone and Dana Elliott; brother-in-law, Forrest Frix; two foster grandsons; two foster great-grandchildren; and a foster daughter-in-law, Pat O. Starkes.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Walston Springs Baptist Church; Travis Moore, Larry Henderson, Leroy Blackmon, Marvin Henderson, Arnold Ray, Emory smith, Charlie Davis and Buddy Walker.

Condolence calls will be received from 7 – 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
