Services for Thelma Burroughs, 78, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian church of Palestine with Dr. Jeff Cover and Rev. W.S. Blanton officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Park under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Mrs. Burroughs died Friday at Memorial Hospital. She was born July 13, 1916 in Palestine to Worth and Minnie Selden Andrews.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Palestine and had been church secretary for 17 years. She had been secretary for the Brotherhood of Railway Conductors for 10 years.
Mrs. Burroughs is survived by her husband, Bob Burroughts of Palestine; daughter, Lynn Davis of Tyler; son, Reb Burroughs of Fort Worth; brother, Worth Andrews, Jr. of Palestine; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Barber, H. Carnathan, Wayne Walker, Daniel Dean, Steve Presley and Ed Bedre.
Condolence calls will be received at the funeral home today from 6 – 8 p.m.
