Services for Claude A. Woolverton, 42, are pending at Hassell & Foster Funeral Home. The services will be held at Tennessee Colony Union Church with the Rev. R. C. Terry officiating and burial will follow at the Tennessee Colony Cemetery.
Mr. Woolverton was born September 22, 1927, in Tennessee Colony, a son of Alva Herman “Spurs” Woolverton and Mrs. Ruby Campbell Woolverton. He was reared in Tennessee Colony and with the exception of five years residence in Arkansas, has spent his entire life in Anderson County.
A member of the Tennessee Colony Christian Church, he was employed as a truck driver for Nolen Swabbing Company at the time of his death. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Katherine Martin Woolverton of Palestine; son, Richard Allen Woolverton of Palestine; daughter, Vicky Lynn Woolverton of Palestine; his parents; brothers, Don Woolverton of Seattle, WA, Glenn Woolverton of Palestine and Longview and Gene Paul Woolverton of Dallas; sister, Mrs. D.J. “Wilda” Davis of Jackson, MS and several nieces and nephews.
