Services for John Henre Wedlin, 80, of Trinity, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Palestine City Cimetery.  Burial will be under the direction of Herrington Land of Memory.  Mr. Wedin died Sunday at the Veterans Administration hospital in Temple after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Palestine on August 11, 1916, to John Peter and Elizabeth Agnes Fitch Wedin.  He owned and operated a beauty salon in Huntsville for more than 35 years, and had lived in Trinity for the last 23 years.  Mr. Wedin was a graduate of Palestine High School and Sam Houston State University.  He served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific theater from August 1941 to June 1947.  He was a presbyterian.

Mr. Wedin is survived by his sister, Edwina Harrison of Palestine; and sister-in-law, Ada Lee Wedin of Palestine.

Condolence calls will be received from 5 – 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
