Graveside services for Evelyn Stallcup 88 of Palestine will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery with Dr. Bill Newcomp officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington Land of Memory Funeral home.

Mrs. Stallcup died Sunday at Dogwood Trails Nursing Home.  She was born in Anderson County on January 3, 1909, to Will and Carra Riddle.

Mrs. Stallcup was a graduate of Palestine High School.  She was a past matron of Palestine Chaper No. 395 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Daughters of the Nile, a charter member of the Sharuhan Temple No. 127 of Tyler and a member of Harvey Woman’s Club.  She also served in the military services during World War II.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palestine.  Mrs. Stallcup was preceded in death by her husband, E.C. Stallcup in July, 1972.

She is survived by her sister, Charlsye Reeves of Palestine; and a nephew, Robert Reeves of Dallas.
