The Rev. Dr. Reuben Quinn Pugh Sr., of Statesboro, GA died February 13, 2004 at the age of 74. Quinn, the son of Reuben Loy Pugh and Nora Leona Massey Pugh, was born on July 15, 1929 in Palestine and reared in rural Tennessee Colony.
Quinn received undergraduate degree from East Texas Baptist University. Quinn was ordained to the Gospel Ministry by the Macedonia Baptist Church of Tennessee Colony on January 27, 1950 and devoted his life to the Gospel ministry. He devoted his life to the ministry, he also pursued many other activities. Quinn was heavily involved in various Southern Baptist denominational activities, throughout the decades, at both the local association level and the state convention level.
Quinn was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Norma Louise Norris of Lake City, FL; his sister, Mary Joy Pugh Simms of Mesquite; his son, Reuben Quinn, Jr. of Denver, CO; his daughter, Ruth Loy Pugh Forman of Phoenixville, PA; and his grandchildren, Matthew Forman, Megan Forman and Emily Pugh.
Graveside services and burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Tennessee Colony Cemetery in Texas.
